In science class, we dissected a frog for the first time. We were instructed by Mrs. Simmonds to extract organs like the fat bodies, heart, liver, etc. While many of our peers were afraid to do this experiment, they preserved through their fears and did it for the nature of scientific discovery. With the help of Mrs. Simmonds and Mrs. Rossi, we were able to successfully extract major organs and actually apply the organs to the knowledge of the body systems that we have learned about, like the excretory system, integumentary system, and the nervous system. This experiment taught us many things about the anatomy of frogs’ organs, and we would for sure do this again as it was probably the most educational and entertaining science class that we have had all year.
